Alba Adriatica, Italy, July 14, 2019 – Emi van Driel and Raïsa Schoon showed their potential when they won their second FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour gold medals of the season when they beat Agata Zuccarelli and Gaia Traballi in the women-only Alba Adriatica 1-Star gold medal match on Sunday.
The Dutch pair have enjoyed success at age-group level, notably when they won silver at the Nanjing 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships.

Alba Adriatica was the sixth World Tour event the teenagers have played in and they wrapped up the gold medals in comfortable style with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-11) victory over the Italians.
They weren’t the only Dutch duo to finish on the podium. Their compatriots Katja Stam and Julia Wouters won bronze when they defeated Italy’s Federica Frasca and Arianna Barboni 2-0 (21-16, 21-17).
It is their second World Tour medal of the season having previously won silver at the Baden 1-Star in June.
