England’s Bello brothers prevail in tiebreaker to reach Rubavu semifinals

 
Rubavu, Rwanda, August 23, 2019 – England’s Javier and Joaquin Bello made a comeback after losing the opening set to record a victory that secured them a final four spot in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Rubavu 1-star.



After losing the first set, the Bello brothers worked their way up to gain the two-point margin in both extended second and third sets 2-1 (18-21, 22-20, 18-16) against Cyprus’ Antonis Liotatis and Georgios Chrysostomou. The England pair have reached the World Tour semifinal for the first time in their career.

In the other quarterfinal matches, Japanese duos Kensuke Shoji/Masato Kurasaka and Hitoshi Murakami/Keisuke Shimizu prevailed in their respective quarterfinal matchups after enduring round of 12 encounters with wins.
