News 23/05/2019 Tanaka and Miyuki claim tie-break win for Boracay main draw spot Boracay, Philippines, May 23, 2019 – Japan’s Shinako Tanaka and Miyuki Matsumura advanced to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Boracay Open main draw following a three-set win in the qualification round on Thursday.Tanaka and Miyuki faced Thailand’s Sirinuch Kawfong and Kanchana Siangbun in the second round of qualification, after earning a bye in the first round.The Japanese pair dropped the first set but rallied to a 2-1 (20-22, 21-16, 15-13) win over the young Thai duo to secure their spot in the next round.“After losing the first set, we had to change our mindset in the next two sets,” Tanaka said. “We had to go back to basics and work on with our passing and setting.“They were tough and they targeted me on the serve so we just had to focus harder.
