News 01/11/2018 Gothenburg to host first Swedish World Tour event Gothenburg, Sweden, November 1, 2018 - For the first time in FIVB history, Sweden will host an FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour event when a men's and women's tournament will be held from April 18 to 21 at the world’s biggest indoor centre for beach volleyball at Gothenburg's Beach Center.In the previous two seasons, the Beach Center has hosted European confederation men's tournaments with teams from France (Arnaud Gauthier-Rat/Arnaud Loiseau in 2017) and Germany (Julius thole/Clemens Wickler in 2018) netting gold medals.The Beach Center Open brings the 2019 international beach volleyball schedule back to Europe for the first-time after early January when the Netherlands will host the DELA Beach Open in The Hague from January 2-6. During the nine weeks prior to the event, the FIVB World Tour will include events in Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Qatar and Thailand.
