Traballi and Zuccarelli aiming for home glory in Alba Adriatica

Alba Adriatica, Italy, July 11, 2019 – Number one seeds Gaia Traballi and Agata Zuccarelli will be chasing their first FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour medal in over a year when they compete at the women-only Alba Adriatica 1-Star event from July 12-14.

The Italians won silver at the 2-Star Nantong event in June 2018. However, since then the closest that they have come to a World Tour podium was when they finished fourth at the Nanjing 2-Star event in June 2019.

Second seeds Francesca Kirwan and Olivia MacDonald of New Zealand continue their progress through the senior beach volleyball ranks after they made their World Tour debuts in August 2018 at the Siofok 1-Star in Hungary.

Their best finishes so far were three consecutive quarterfinal finishes at the 2019 Langkawi, Satun and Battambang 1-Star tournaments.

Victoria Faye Kjølberg and Ane Guro Tveit Hjortland are seeded third. The Norwegians have played together since 2016 and their best World Tour finish came at the Gothenburg 1-Star in April 2019 when they finished third.
