News 12/04/2019 Ishitsubo and Shiba edge top-seeded compatriots in Langkawi pool play Langkawi, Malaysia, April 12, 2019 – Japanese pair Satono Ishitsubo and Asami Shiba beat their top-seeded compatriots Sakurako Fujii and Minori Kumada in the second round of pool play to gain direct entry into the quarterfinals of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Langkawi 1-star on Friday.Ishitsubo and Shiba gained momentum from their 2-0 (21-17, 21-12) win over Thailand’s Pronsuda Kritsana and Sumintra Sow in the first round to beat their fellow nationals 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) in Pool A.In Pool B, Battambang 1-star gold medallists Lara Dykstra and Cassie House kept their winning run going with two straight-set wins.
