Iemelianchyk and Denysenko soar to top spot in Satun

Satun, Thailand, April 9, 2019 – Ukraine’s Vladyslav Iemelianchyk and Denys Denysenko claimed the top spot in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Satun 1-star with a straight-set win in the gold medal match on Thursday.

Iemelianchyk and Denysenko prevailed in a nail-biting three-set encounter with Kazakhstan’s Dimitriy Yakovlev and Sergey Bogatu to move to the finale recording a 2-1 (21-17, 19-21, 15-13) win.

The Ukrainians battled Iran’s Rahman Raoufi and Abolhamed Mirzaali in the gold medal match, where they never gave their rivals a chance to bounce back. They completed their mission with a 2-0 (21-10, 21-14) win.

Ukraine climbed two places higher from their last medal victory of bronze in Vaduz, Liechtenstein on August 12, 2018, when Iemelianchyk teamed-up with Sergiy Popov. Iemlianchyk also netted gold with Popov in Porec, Croatia on July 8, 2018. The Ukranians now have a total of four medals from the men’s tournaments on the FIVB World Tour.
