World champions take on Whiteboard Challenge in Rome

Rome, Italy, September 6, 2019 - Get to know the Canadian world champions as Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan take a few minutes out from their schedule in Rome to try the Whiteboard Challenge.

The pair are playing to build on their title at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Germany earlier this year as they participate in the final stages of the World Tour Finals in Rome this weekend.

While their victory at the World Championships on July 6 earned Canada a place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Pavan and Humana-Paredes are also keen to show their mettle at the five-star tournament in Rome.

Currently second in the world ranking and one of two Canadian teams in the top 10, the new world champions take on the season's other high-flyers in Rome including the likes of Gstaad winners Alix Klineman/April Ross of the United States, who are currently the top team in the world ranking, and Brazilians Ana Patricia Ramos and Rebecca Cavalcanti, team number three in the world ranking.
