Lausanne, Switzerland, March 9, 2019 – Mads Rosager and Jacob Stein Brinck will need to knock out top seeds Maxim Sivolap and Artem Yarzutkin if they want to reach the gold medal match at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kg Speu 1-Star tournament on Sunday.

The Kg Speu 1-Star is running from March 7-10 and is one of two 1-Star tournaments organised by Cambodia during the 2018-19 World Tour, and one of 20 1-Star tournaments throughout the year.

The Danes met the Russian pair earlier in the tournament when Sivolap and Yarzutkin won 2-1 (19-21, 21-17, 15-0) and will now meet in the semifinals on Sunday.

On Saturday. Rosager and Stein Brink beat Russia’s Vasili Ivanov and Sergey Gorbenko 2-1 (21-17, 22-24, 17-15) to reach the semifinals, while Sivolap and Yarzutkin defeated Slovenia’s Gasper Plahutnik and Danijel Pokersnik 2-0 (21-17, 21-14).

The other semifinal will pitch South Africa’s Grand Goldschmidt and Leo Williams against Austria's Moritz Fabian Kindl and Arwin Kopschar, two teams who came through the qualifiers.

In the quarterfinals Goldschmidt and Williams beat USA’s Mark Edwin Burik and Ian Satterfield 2-0 (22-20, 21-18), while Fabian Kindl and Kopschar defeated Canada’s Ivan Reka and Simon Fecteau-Boutin 2-1 (12-21, 21-13, 17-15).
