Sude has played with Chantal Laboureur for the past six seasons, while Borger and Kozuch were together for two. The pair expect to play at the Xiamen 4-Star that will take place in China from 24-28 April.
“I did not see our team making the right sort of progress for the upcoming Olympic Qualifiers,” Sude said. “That’s why I made the decision to target Olympic qualifying with Karla Borger. I would like to thank Chantal for our success in our years together and I am now looking forward to the new challenge with Karla.”
Sude and Borger have played together twice before. In their junior days they won bronze at the 2009 CEV U23 European Championships and in 2014 they played together at the Berlin Grand Slam.
Sude made her World Tour debut in 2007 and won nine medals in tandem with Laboureur. Borger made her World Tour debut in 2009 and from 2010 to 2016 she played alongside Britta Buthe. Their greatest moment came at the Mazury 2013 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, where they won silver. They later played together at Rio 2016 and won six World Tour medals.
“I am looking forward to the new adventure,” Sude said. “Our goal is to qualify for the Olympic Games and to establish ourselves in the top five in the world.”
