News 01/01/2019 Miguel Pereira returns to World Tour calendar in August Miguel Pereira, Brazil, January 1, 2019 - A busy August on the 2018/2019 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour includes a stop in Brazil as Miguel Pereira hosts the international circuit for the second-straight season with a men's and women's event from August 8-11.While the Brazilian men dominated the 2018 Miguel Pereira tournament at the end of May by capturing seven of the top eight places, Romanians Adriana-Maria Matei/Beata Vaida prevented a sweep of the medals by the South American country by capturing the top spot on the women's podium.With their three-straight wins over teams from Brazil in the elimination round, Matei and Vaida became the first men's or women's team from Romania to win an FIVB World Tour medal.In the men's 2018 Miguel Pereira finale, Brazilians Luciano Ferreira/Vinicius Rezende defeated Rodrigo Bernat/Harley Marques for the gold medal.
