Rome hosts FIVB World Tour Finals

Rome, Italy, November 15, 2018 - After staging the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals the past four seasons in the United States, Canada and Germany, the fifth edition of the season-ending event will be held from September 4-8 in Rome, Italy.

The third of three international beach volleyball events in Italy on the 2018-2019 calendar, Rome follows Alba Adriatica (July 12-14, women's only) and Pinarella di Cervia (July 25-28, men's-only) on the FIVB World Tour schedule.

Prior to the 2018-2019 season, the last FIVB World Tour event staged in Italy was in July 2013 in Rome. Overall, Italy has hosted 25 men's and 20 women's tournaments highlighted by the 2011 FIVB World Championships in Rome.

Following a men's only tournament in 2009, Rome hosted double gender FIVB Grand Slam events in 2010, 2012 and 2013. The gold medal teams at the 2011 Rome World Championships were from Brazil - Alison Cerutti/Emanuel Rego and Juliana Felisberta/Larissa Franca.
