Satun to welcome second 1-star double gender event

 
Satun, Thailand, November 1, 2018 - The first of two 2019 international beach volleyball events in Thailand will be from April 8 to 11 as Satun hosts an FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour men's and women's tournament for the second-straight season.

At the end of the month, Bangkok welcomes back the world's elite players from April 24 to 28.  Thailand will also be the site of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Under-21 World Championships from June 18 to 23 in Udonthani.

Host Thailand defeated teams from Indonesia to secure two medals at the inaugural Satun event in 2018. Nuttanon Inkiew/Sedtawat Padsawud defeated Indonesia's Mohammad Ashfiya/Candra Rachmawan for the men's title while Khanittha Hongpak/Rumpaipruet Numwong beat Dhita Juliana/Putu Utami from Indonesia for the third spot on the women's podium.

Caitlin Ledoux/Emily Stockman of the United States defeated Tatyana Mashkova/Irina Tsimbalova of Kazakhstan for the 2018 Satun women's gold medal while Abolhamed Mirzaali/Rahman Raoufi of Iran captured the men's bronze by defeating Tim Dickson/Zachery Schubert of Australia.
